Tour Champlain College’s MakerLab and Emergent Media Center. Makerspaces are more than a collection of cool tools. Their very design fosters specific methods and modes of learning. By lowering the cost of failure, lowering the barriers to production, and by fostering a community of learning, these spaces promote iterative design, critical thinking, interdisciplinary thinking and open collaboration. After a discussion lead by MakerLab faculty and staff, there will be a tour, and time to explore the MakerLab.
This workshop is limited in attendance to 10 people each.
Sign up will be at the Registration Table on a first come basis. A shuttle will pick up participants 20 minutes prior to the workshop at the designated shuttle pick up area. After the workshop the shuttle will return the participants to the conference on the main campus.
